Books by Design is a reading and redecorating boutique located in downtown Villa Rica, Georgia. Brimming with southern hospitality and infused with a vintage retro-inspired aesthetic, Books by Design specializes in used book trade-ins, interior design, and tutoring services. We’re always available to offer a book recommendation or paint color consultation, and we’d love to have you just stop in to chat. It is our hope to gradually reintroduce West Georgia to the joy of reading, and maybe somewhere along the way, we’ll help redecorate a room or two.
The Books
Book by Design hopes to be Villa Rica’s favorite place to trade-in and buy gently used books. We will carry a variety of authors and genres, including popular fiction, mystery & suspense, adventure, romance, Christian fiction and lots of children’s books. Numerous non-fiction titles will also be available on topics such as sports, health and wellness, faith, and finance. If you’re looking for something a bit more unique, come browse our collection of antique books; or maybe you would be interested in our stock of used audiobooks. With over 8,000 books in inventory, you’re sure to find plenty of titles to keep your reading list long, and if you’re having trouble deciding–just ask us for a recommendation! That’s what we’re here for.
If you’re looking to trade-in your used books, you’ve come to the right place! Just bring your collection into the Books by Design shop, and we’ll give you a store credit. We don’t guarantee a certain value for your trade-ins; we base the amount of credit on the age, condition, and popularity of the titles you bring in–we’ll try our best to be generous though! After you shop around, we’ll apply UP TO 50% of your store credit to your new purchase… that means if you have enough credit, you pay just 50% of the new purchase in cash or check. If you have any additional credit left over, you’re welcome to use it again another day! It’s that simple… just remember there’s a 10 book trade-in limit. Up to 10 books AND 10 children’s books per day.
The Design
In addition to used books, Books by Design will offer a variety of interior design services. Whether you need a simple paint color consultation, a new space plan, organizational tactics and techniques, or shopping services, we’re here to help. The Tutoring
Finally, Books by Design will offer tutoring services in all subjects for students in grades K-8th grade. Tutoring will take place in the Books by Design office in a one-on-one setting. A variety of proven learning strategies will be implemented to help your student succeed in school. So why used books and interior design, you might ask. How do those two entities correlate and live side-by-side? Well, at the the end of day, it comes down to sustainability. Books by Design will strive to lead Villa Rica, Georgia to new environmentally sustainable endeavors. That may mean facilitating the use and reuse of like-new books, refinishing furniture for resale, or helping some of Villa Rica’s families adopt a new space plan in their living room instead of buying all new furniture. Whatever the case or cause, we’ll be here to discuss any questions that may arise with the growing “go green” trend and will aim to be readily available with new hints and tips for more environmentally-conscious living. Books by Design in no way intends to over-zealously hug trees, but instead we simply hope to take good care of the trees, so one day we can have more used books and more refinished furniture.
